Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.
The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Officers then found many other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably human blood.
"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are presently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities announced they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior official said the incident left him without words and required to be solved quickly.
"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, referring to the death of nine individuals by a assailant targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
